Music

Music is an integral part of the life of the church at Westminster Presbyterian in Boardman.  There are opportunities for the learning and sharing of musical talents from the youngest to the oldest of our members.  The music programs are not only a time to learn musical fundamentals and their application in the expression of praise to God, but a great time of fellowship.  We welcome everyone to become an active member in each of the musical organizations of the church.

Children’s Bell Choir:  This group is for children kindergarten through grade 7.  They meet every Sunday morning in the Music Room from 9:15 – 9:30 am.  They learn the fundamentals of bell technique and prepare seasonal music for the worship services.  This group uses 3 octaves of White Chapel Bells and plays in worship four or five times per year.

Adult Bell Choir:  The adult bell choir is for adults of all ages and those teenagers that are advanced enough to play more difficult repertoire.  They meet on Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the music room.  They rehearse six weeks prior to the Christmas and Easter seasons and share in worship three or four times per year.

Chancel Choir:    The Chancel Choir is an important component of the worshipping community.  They rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 pm and sing in worship at the 10:30 am service every Sunday morning September through June.  They also prepare a Christmas program of lessons and carols each Advent season and a large choral presentation in the spring.  This group is open to teenagers and adults of all ages.

Instrumental groups and ensembles:  There are a number of talented instrumentalists at Westminster.  They share their talents as soloists, accompanists to anthems, summer special music events and as instrumental ensembles.
