Writing a song is a reflection of where you currently are in life. What affects you today is VERY different to what affected you 10 years ago.Ever get that feeling when you write something great and then go back to it a week later and it doesn't feel the same? Yeah, it's basically that! That window of inspiration or personal experience has closed and you moved on.To label it good or bad just doesn't make sense. It would be the equivalent of writing in a diary and calling it a bad or good entry, it just doesn’t apply!#musicproduction #songwriting

Man, this is so insightful ~ the metsphor you use is such an obvious one that is easily forgotten. Calling it bad isn't sensible.

I was thinking about my career. Thought about what kind of work I usually enjoy. And I concluded that I enjoy anything that has a rigid outcome and singularity as the base nature. Writing ✒️Forget about all the formats of writing. When I work on writing, my work is done with the rigid outcome of an article, copy or whatever it is. Even if we are 10 people working on a written piece or an anthology. The outcome will still stay as a singularity in nature. Music 🎵The concluded song would be my rigid outcome when I create a track.Even if I collaborate on an Album with people. It still won't be a vague work. 👁️ Why am I yappin so much? Because I think the peak of my potential is in solo work. And I think I should try to earn money from such stuff. Do something so religiously that it is your speciality and you will earn great money at it. I am still unsure how to approach these interests, so if anyone can help, do text me. And I missed Day 16 of #90daysofwriting because of some stuff. So consider this as the day 16! Bye bye#writing #music #journaling

For me, songwriting is not only a creative process but a way to get my (often intense) feelings out. This song idea I’m working on here is about overcoming pain and using it to live a more graceful existence. THAT’S INTENSE!I used to blow my voice out working through writing songs like this…. last night I tried using my @singingstraw … and it worked like a charm. 🫶 Not only did I save my voice from blow out, I found my notes easier to find and, it was nice and warm so I could make a voice note once the idea was hashed out. #SongwriterHack #SingingHack #BernadetteConnors #phonation #singingstraw

I have been writing and composing tracks for more than 4 years now. I wanted to share some insights on #lyricswriting Writing compelling lyrics is an art that combines emotion, storytelling, and musicality. Here are some tips to elevate your lyric-writing game:1. Find Your Inspiration: Draw from personal experiences, emotions, or stories. Authenticity resonates deeply with listeners.2. Craft a Strong Hook: Your chorus should be memorable and catchy. It's the heart of your song that listeners will remember and hum along to.3. Tell a Story: Take your audience on a journey. Begin with a clear narrative or theme, building through verses to a climax in the chorus.4. Use Vivid Imagery: Paint pictures with your words. Descriptive language can evoke powerful emotions and create a lasting impact.5. Play with Structure: Don’t be afraid to experiment with different lyrical structures. While the verse-chorus-verse format is popular, varying it can keep your song fresh.6. Emphasize Rhythm and Rhyme: Ensure your lyrics flow naturally with the melody. Rhyming adds a lyrical rhythm that can enhance memorability.7. Edit Ruthlessly: Great lyrics often come from rewriting and refining. Don't settle for your first draft—keep polishing until every word counts.Remember, compelling lyrics connect and communicate on a profound level, creating a shared experience between the artist and the audience. Happy writing!#creativewriting #lyrics #songwriting #musicwriting

🧐 So what is a song sketch? 🤔💁♀️ Its the first iteration of an idea. It is arguably the MOST important part of writing. (I might also say the same thing in a future post about arrangements being the most important, though!) ➡️ Working with other people makes the whole process easier. You can go back and forth and argue over which parts stay and what gets cut. Exploring your own attachments to parts of a song make the whole song concept, storyline, and execution better. 🥳 And the fun part is if you're creating diligently, obsessively, and methodically, you can save those ideas that you love for another project. You don't have to throw them out! ➡️ If you have a creative person that you can work with, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.🎵Collaborative Songwriting with people who push you creatively: 10/10 stars 🌟. ➡️ Listen to or watch the full episode for the whole story.➡️ link in bioVideo Description: kerri and bronwyn wax poetic on the benefits of passing sketches back and forth collaboratively. the title reads: "so what is a song sketch?"#SongwritingTeam #MusicProductionProcess #CollaborativeSongwriting #SketchToDemo #ShareOriginalSongs #OriginalSongs #TeamOfSongwriters #MusicProductionJourney #ProductionJourney #SongCreationProcess #MusicCreationProcess #CollaborativeProduction #SongwritersofInstagram #CreativeProcess #CreativityHacks #TeamCreativeCollaboration #SongEvolvers

If writing isn’t fun for you, you’re doing something wrong. Here’s the third of seven tips on how to make it fun again:Make sure you’re listening to some SOUND while writing. Research from 2012 shows that most people achieve peak performance under conditions many teachers would decry — 70 decibels. That’s the level of sound you’d hear in a busy coffee shop. And of course, you can also listen to the sounds of nature (YouTube is a ready source) or music. Just avoid music with lyrics — those words will get in the way of your writing. What do YOU listen to when writing? ~~✍️ What's your take on this?♻️ Share if this was helpful

🍝 Now to tell you about my less formal method of object writing. 🍝 i call it the Spaghetti Method. Unlike Kerri, i dont use a timer. ⏰ (im not that organized!) And i just start writing. Its sort of stream of consciousness, but centered on whatever the song subject is. It works for me, but no one taught it to me, i just kinda… went with it. Why do i call it the spaghetti method,? Because well, i throw sh$t at the wall, and see what sticks. 🤩Honestly, use whatever method works for you. Timer, formal, informal, spaghetti, rigatoni, whatever! As long as you get your ideas out, you WILL get results. Sometimes more than one song from the ideas you started. Good luck and start messy!!➡️ link in bio for the full episode#MusicProductionProcess #MusicProductionJourney #ProductionJourney #SongCreationProcess #MusicCreationProcess #SongwritersofLinkedIn #CreativeProcess #SongEvolvers #ObjectWriting

➡️ onto the last three stages of a song: 3️⃣ The demo, 4️⃣ the arrangement and 5️⃣ the full production. 🪄Here's where the magic happens. 🪄🙋♀️I know i said in yesterday's post that the worktape is where the song STARTS to take shape, but its clear that the stages of demo, the arrangement and then the full production are really what makes a song sound viable, commercial, professional, polished, like you want to listen to it on repeat. 🎧 (Cause thats what you WANT to do, right?) ➡️ link in bio🎥 Video Description: kerri tells us what the demo really is. its more polished than the worktape. then they discuss the arrangement and full production. the caption reads " 5 stages of a song Demo"#MusicProductionProcess #MusicProductionJourney #ProductionJourney #SongCreationProcess #MusicCreationProcess #SongwritersofLinkedIn #CreativeProcess #SongEvolvers #ObjectWriting
