I am honored to have been chosen to lead Dentons, a firm that I have watched redefine the legal services landscape. Under Elliott’s leadership, the firm has differentiated itself with its polycentric approach and integrated cross-border and multidisciplinary client engagements.I am excited to build on all that Elliott has built and I am looking forward to working with him on a transition and to collaborating with Dentons’ accomplished regional leadership to continue challenging industry norms and adapting to the ever-changing world of technology and innovation faced by law firms and professional service firms around the world in order to deliver excellence for the benefit of our people and our clients.

Enjoyed recently teaching a class of All Stars Project, Inc. interns about financial literacy. As a member of this great organization's board, it is a pleasure to support its mission any way that I can. It was fun and rewarding to review key concepts--like “net worth” and “cash flow “and other ways to be financially smart--with this group of NYC inner-city youth who are just starting out in the working world. All the best to them and thanks to All Stars for this experience!

Really enjoyed The Ireland Funds NYC gala with, at left, a special table of friends and colleagues. It was so great to honor Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick for their contributions to the arts, and Lynn Martin, President of the NYSE Group, for her contributions to business. At right, happy to be joined by L-R, Maudy Dooher of the Funds and my wonderful niece Hannah Barton. A great time was had by all!#Irelandfund

I enjoyed speaking this week at the Boston College Law School scholarship program. It gives me great joy to track the progress of Barton scholars who would be unable to attend BC law without scholarships. My contribution to the scholarship program is a tribute to my parents who encouraged and supported me every step of the way throughout my education.Go BC Law!

Enjoyed attending an EY-hosted event at Gotham restaurant in NYC, recognizing International Women's Day. All attending were inspired by Belgian tennis great, Kim Clijsters, (standing center). Kim is an amazing player, having reached the world No. 1 ranking in both singles and doubles, holding both rankings simultaneously in 2003, and six major titles all together. She's also an amazing woman, who, after having her first child, joined another tennis great, Margaret Court, in holding the record for most Grand Slam singles titles won as a mother! Thank you to EY and Kim for a memorable luncheon!

My friend and former colleague, George Brooks, has tapped into a serious issue impacting many thousands of workers today--work-related anxieties. His new venture, Mindbursts, is designed to help address and mitigate these problems, and he's making an attractive early enrollment offer, too.I just signed up to learn more and to try some of the classes!

Delighted to share news that I've been invited to join the Board of Directors of the Ireland Funds.A great cause and a great honor. This dedicated and compassionate group of people across the US help advance peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland, enhance excellence in education, nourish Irish arts and culture, and generally strengthen the bonds that bring Irish communities closer together. The photo with this post is from an event hosted by the Ireland Funds in September during UN week where I had the opportunity to meet the Taoiseach of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, and other guests.Being able to give back to great organizations on the global stage truly is a privilege.
